Updating a Legend: Yamaha YHR-871 Custom French Horn Delivers Consistent Playability and Expanded Tonal Range

ANAHEIM (January 21, 2016) — Yamaha today introduced the YHR-871 line of Custom level Geyer-style French horns that evoke the revered YHR-861.

Offering a redefined sound with a wider range of tonal characteristics for performing passages that require added nuance, the new instruments provide the well-regarded consistency and playability associated with Yamaha Custom-level horns.

The original Geyer-style YHR-861 model horns remain popular with professional players in orchestras around the world, and the new models include superior design elements from the YHR-861 that help shape a rich, centered tone. Meticulous craftsmanship offers the value and quality that are integral characteristics of Yamaha horns. To help achieve a true, classic Geyer horn sound, a thicker rim wire delivers a rich, centered sound and the gold brass leadpipe and round main tuning slides provide consistent feel and sound characteristics.
